Incorporating architectural ceramics into my repertoire was a natural progression in the evolution of my work in clay. Growing up and living in the Greater Cincinnati area, I was aware and fascinated by the architectural terra cotta throughout the region created by several companies that had been in the area including Rookwood Pottery, Alhambra Tile and Cambridge Tile. Once I began working in clay in the 70’s, my interest grew but I didn’t attempt anything architecturally until after 2002, when I took a workshop with Peter King. Initially I began producing custom made and painted sinks which has now evolved into other architectural offerings as shown in this portfolio.
